1,Scope

This standard specifies the classification method of steel wire and terminology related to the production and use of steel wire

These provisions apply to the standardized documents and technical documents of steel wire and related fields, and used to regulate the classification and terminology in the process of steel wire production and use.

2.2.4 medium size steel wire

The diameter or cross profile of steel wire＞1.50mm~3.0mm

The diameter or cross profile of steel wire＞3.0mm~6.0mm

2.2.6 thicker steel wire

The diameter or cross profile of steel wire＞6.0mm~16.0mm

2.3Classified by chemical composition

2.3.1 Low carbon steel wire

Carbon content of carbon steel wire is no more than 0.25%

2.3.2 medium carbon steel wire

Carbon content of carbon steel wire>0.25%~0.6%

2.3.3 high carbon steel wire

Carbon content of carbon steel wire>0.6%

2.3.4 low alloy steel wire

Alloying element composition of steel wire is no more than 5.0%

2.3.5 medium alloy steel wire

Alloying element composition of steel wire> 5.0%~10.0%

2.3.6 high alloy steel wire

Alloying element composition of steel wire> 10.0%
